Eurogroup For Animals
Eurogroup for Animals is the leading voice for animal welfare at EU level, providing a voice for the billions of animals kept in laboratories, farms, households or those living in the wild. Representing 40 plus strong national animal welfare organizations in EU advisory committees and consultation bodies, Eurogroup for Animals introduces change in the EU policy of animal welfare.
We actively work to promote the replacement, reduction and refinement of animal tests, the dissemination of best practices in livestock production, tackling issues such as irresponsible breeding of pets or ensuring that animal welfare is included in all bilateral agreements between the EU and third countries.
Decisions on standards and regulations within the EU have an impact on animal welfare around the globe and since its launch in 1980, the organization has succeeded in encouraging the EU to adopt higher legal standards for animal protection – thus influencing animal welfare policy worldwide.
